Circles of Safety for Youth-Serving Organizations

Adaptable to any youth-serving environment, our signature prevention training brings education and information together with confidence and skill building activities to prepare adults to speak up and prevent sex abuse.

Every training includes planning and customization through use of leadership meetings, focus groups, and program policy and practice reviews.

Circles of Safety for Higher Education

The Circles of Safety for Higher Education (COSHE) program addresses the need for a comprehensive, campus-wide approach to the prevention of child sexual abuse. COSHE relies on a tiered approach involving institutional leadership, key university representatives, and a cross-disciplinary team.

We believe that individual investment combined with team effort can change organizational culture and bring about lasting proactive prevention of child sexual victimization.

Alternative Comprehensive Workshops

The following are a sample of available workshops. Standard workshops cost $350.00 per hour as well as a one-time $150.00 administrative fee.

Circles of Safety: Speaking Up to Keep Children Safe - 3 Hours

This training highlights basic facts and Key Steps to Prevention, while offering opportunities to immediately practice protective strategies, safety planning and provides an overview and foundation for anyone seeking increased awareness of sex abuse prevention.

Circles of Safety: Recognizing and Responding to Adults' Behaviors - 2.5 Hours

This training focuses on recognizing behaviors in adults and situations that increase risk of sexual harm to a child. Participants will learn how to set boundaries with adults who interact with children, and how to speak up to keep children safe.

Circles of Safety: Recognizing and Responding to Children's Sexual Behaviors - 3 Hours

This training looks at preventive tasks along the development continuum to both support healthy sexuality development and to determine whether sexual behaviors in children are age-appropriate. Participants will learn how to use context to determine when behaviors are inappropriate or harmful, and how to respond to early warning signs in children’s behaviors. The focus is on pre-pubescent children.

Circles of Safety: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention for Youth-Serving Organizations - 3 Hours

This training is easily customizable. It is for youth-serving organizations offering out-of-school-time activities including camps, tutoring, and sports. Designed to prepare staff and volunteers to act proactively to create safe environments that protect children from sexual harm, and also to protect the professional adults working with children, this workshop introduces key concepts of prevention including how to recognize signs of abuse, warning signs in both adults' and children’s behaviors, and unsafe behaviors. It also teaches you how to respond to concerns.

Circles of Safety: Safety Planning for Parents - 2.5 Hours

This training is for professionals working with parents to support safety planning in the home. Participants will identify and practice strategies to coach parents on communicating about healthy sexuality with their children and designing their own safety plans to teach their children about safe boundaries, relationships and consent.

Circles of Safety: Supervising for Parents - 3 Hours

This training is for professionals in youth serving organizations who supervise and train direct service staff – those who work with parents and families – to help them develop skills to develop their employees abilities and resources to i incorporate healthy sexual development needs into their case planning and ongoing service provision.
