Stop It Now! Receives $879,000 Federal Earmark
Funds Will Be Used to Streghthen Child Sexual Abuse Prevention in Massachusetts
On June 17, U.S. Representative Jim McGovern announced $879,000 federal earmark for Stop It Now!
These funds will be used to strengthen the network of child sexual abuse prevention organizations across Massachusetts. So, while funding centers on Stop It Now!, the reach of the project will affect far beyond just our own organization.
Director Jenny Coleman envisions Stop It Now! pursuing research into the best “evidence-based” prevention tools and forming an advisory board with state and local leaders working in abuse prevention, as well as parents and professionals who interact with children through their work.
Through these projects, Coleman said the organization will assess the support already in place and gaps to address.

We’re grateful to see Prevention Global launch UNDERSTANDING HARM, a multi-year research initiative designed to strengthen the quality of data on child sexual abuse perpetration and risk factors around the world.

Our platform for youth, whatsok.org, continued to expand its reach as a trusted, judgment-free resource for people ages 14 -21 navigating complex questions about sexual thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Review WhatsOK's 2025 analytics to see how people are reaching out earlier, seeking guidance before harm occurs, and finding support when they need it most.

New figures from our colleagues at Lucy Faithfull Foundation, providers of Stop It Now! UK and Ireland, shows the huge potential for prevention through partnerships between specialist NGOs and tech companies.
