Circles of Safety for Professionals Who Work with Parents and Professional Caregivers

Circles of Safety is designed to support and strengthen youth-serving organizations’ ability to create safer environments for their agency, their staff and the children and families they serve. Upon completion of Circles of Safety, professionals who work with parents, foster parents, in-home parent supports and other professional caregivers are more confident and better prepared to think and act preventatively to protect children and youth from sexual harm.

Professionals who work with children who’ve experienced trauma are usually prepared to respond to high-risk and crisis situations. They are most likely confident and knowledgeable about what to do when a child or youth is in crisis, perhaps demonstrating behaviors that may put others or themselves at risk.

You’re prepared for the crisis – but are you prepared to prevent sexual harm from occurring?

Circles of Safety provides youth-serving and family support professionals with resources to talk with parents and professional caregivers about children’s sexual safety. Participants will develop their skills to design safety plans that communicate healthy boundaries and create safe relationships in the families they serve.
