Collaborating
to Protect Kids and Heal Families
Child sexual abuse is not inevitable. It's preventable. Through this web site, Stop It Now!® Minnesota provides on-line information and resources for anyone concerned about sexualized behaviors towards or between children. Preventing the sexual abuse of children before a child is harmed and before an adult, youth, or child acts in a sexually inappropriate way toward a child is challenging and requires the collaboration of those who work with children and families.
At Stop It Now! Minnesota, we work in partnership with many community-based organizations throughout Minnesota to reach and educate adults about the important role each of us plays in preventing the sexual abuse of children.
We have many resources to help you take action to keep children safe. Here are some of the many actions we can help you take:
- Provide information to families who are concerned about how to keep their children safe by becoming a distribution partner
- Learn to recognize warning sign behaviors in adults, youth, or children and to take action by sponsoring a workshop
- Teach others about these warning signs by adding information to your newsletter, bulletin board, or other materials
- Provide referrals to our Helpline for families struggling with sexual behavior issues.
Resources for Organizations
Education and Training
Stop It Now! Minnesota can provide formal or informal workshops for conferences, in communities, and at organizations. Workshop topics include:

This workshop highlights common and uncommon sexual behaviors in children and youth and how to respond to concerning behaviors.
Let's Talk:
Adults Talking to Adults About Child Sexual Abuse
How do you talk to someone when their behavior with a child is concerning you? What do you say when you are worried about an adult you care about and a child you care about? This workshop highlights how to intervene when you see concerning behaviors and how to make sure everyone is safe.
The Primary Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse:
How to Keep Everyone Safe
This workshop highlights what adults and communities can do to prevent child sexual abuse before a child is harmed and before an adult or adolescent acts in a sexually harmful way.
We also work with organizations to customize workshops to meet your needs. If you are interested in sponsoring a workshop in your community or at your organization, please contact us at stopitnowmn@projectpathfinder.org and write “Workshop Request” in the subject line or call us at 651-644-8515.

Helpline
The Helpline can be especially useful when callers are unsure about someone's interactions with a child, when they are worried about someone's behavior towards a child but don't have proof, when there isn't enough information to make a report, or when a report has been made but won't be investigated. Helpline staff help callers sort out their concerns and decide what actions they can take to keep children safe.
Many adults grew up in homes where unclear, unhealthy, and/or abusive sexual behaviors were modeled. These families may need extra assistance in setting and enforcing healthy sexual boundaries in their homes. It may be appropriate for you to initiate conversations with the families you work with about healthy sexual boundaries.
