Tell Feds to Require Abuse Prevention for Youth Programs
Twelve federal agencies have been given the task of developing a joint federal youth policy. The committee has been collecting input from professionals in the field and the public at large.
Stop It Now! joins Darkness to Light and many other organizations and individuals who are asking the committee to recommend that youth-serving organizations who receive federal funds must have policies, procedures and training to prevent the sexual abuse of children. This recommendation could have important and far reaching benefits for preventing child sexual abuse in every community in the US.
Please sign the petition to tell the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs that child sexual abuse prevention training and policies should be included in their federal youth safety policy recommendations. If you feel that you cannot sign because of your organizational affiliation, please sign the petition as an individual without an identifying organization.
Similar petitions are being circulated to child abuse prevention practitioners, leaders in the field, and citizens concerned with preventing and healing child sexual abuse so that they can sign on. Thanks to all of you who have already signed a petition or shared input.
